Design & artwork support

OEM and ODM support, structural design, dielines and the artwork rules that prevent a reprint.

What we can do for you

We work both as an OEM supplier, producing to your existing specification and artwork, and on an ODM basis where we recommend construction, material and packaging for a product you are developing. For most first orders the useful combination is ODM on construction and OEM on artwork.

  • Item and material recommendation based on the routine the customer will follow.
  • Tooling planned so weight and colour variants share moulds across the range.
  • Set configuration — which single items combine well, and in what order they are revealed.
  • Insert and packaging layout so components stay in place in transit.
  • Physical samples so grip, weight and finish are approved by hand.

What to send us

The fastest way to get a workable quotation is to send the following together, rather than sending them across separate messages:

  • The exact item or items — we quote single items as readily as sets.
  • Material and dimensions, or the function and we will recommend.
  • For balls: diameter, wall thickness and the intended user weight.
  • For bands and rings: the resistance level in kilograms or pounds, not colour alone.
  • Quantity, plus branding and packaging requirements.

Artwork requirements

Artwork problems are the most common cause of delay in a custom project. These rules prevent almost all of them:

  • Vector artwork for print, with stroke widths suited to the surface it goes on.
  • A physical colour reference approved on the actual material.
  • Placement given by measurement, especially on curved parts such as balls and rings.
  • Artwork for the carton and insert built on the correct dieline.
  • A physical sample and a packed set approved before bulk.

Colour

Screen colour is not a specification. Decide the reference — a Pantone number or a physical sample — and approve colour on the actual material, because surface texture and sheen change how the same colour reads. Where a range uses one brand colour across different materials, decide which substrate is the reference and let the others follow it.

Approving by hand, not by screen

We would rather send you something physical than a render. Hand-feel, weight and finish are what your customer experiences, and none of them survive a photograph. Ask for a sample in the material you are considering before committing to a tooling or print charge.

Next step

To put this into practice, start from the product range and then read the guide closest to your next decision. Send your artwork and specification and we will confirm what is printable before anything is charged.
